Hi, I'm Zen Gabriel.
I guide people into a closer relationship with their bodies through Focusing, a practice for sensing and listening to what the body knows about the situations in our lives.
Focusing is what I turn to myself. It calms and grounds me. It helps me make sense of things that feel confusing, find the next step when I'm overwhelmed, and make big decisions with clarity. It feels ordinary and, at the same time, quietly spiritual.
Who I work with
Many of the people I work with have realized that the identity or career they built was never really theirs. Often they have spent years treating accurate inner signals as resistance to push through. In our sessions we slow down and listen to those signals instead.
Training
I train in Focusing with Sandy Jahmi Burg in the Learn Focusing community, working with Ann Weiser Cornell's Inner Relationship Focusing and studying the work of Eugene Gendlin, who developed Focusing.
Before this
For eight years I ran a private chef business, cooking in French, Italian, American and Michelin-starred kitchens. I also compose and produce music and write long-form essays on Substack.
